Current research interests
I am a practicing medical doctor specialising in community and social paediatrics; child health problems with social causes, social consequences and children's access to healthcare in society. I focus on high-vulnerability and trauma-experienced child populations including refugee, trafficked and Looked-After children. Current research considers the impact of the UK immigration system as a significant secondary adversity on the health and neurodevelopment of unaccompanied refugee, asylum-seeking and internationally trafficked children in care, with a view to system change.
